Alpha Mu Gamma
CNU is proud to host the Lambda Pi chapter of the largest national collegiate foreign language honorary society, Alpha Mu Gamma. The society was founded in 1931 in order to recognize the achievements of students in all foreign languages at an early stage of their career. Students in Alpha Mu Gamma are eligible to apply for several scholarships. Students interested in joining Alpha Mu Gamma or in applying for a scholarship should contact Dr. Laura Deiulio at (757) 594-7062 or ldeiulio@cnu.edu. Nu Upsilon
On May 4, 2006 Nu Upsilon, the CNU chapter of the French National Honor Society Pi Delta Phi, was installed. On that day, eleven French students were inducted and became members of Pi Delta Phi. Founded at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1906, the Society is devoted to recognizing outstanding scholarship in the French language and literature, increasing the knowledge and appreciation of Americans for the cultural contributions of the French-speaking world, and sponsoring and encouraging French and Francophone cultural activities.
